I am a northerner. Not quite a Geordie, but I know the North East pretty well. I was born and grew up in North West Durham, and lived and worked in Gateshead for more than 30 years. However, I have lived in Berkshire since 2008 following a job change.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience apart from being so far away from family and friends. I became a deputy head teacher of a primary school , and have 15 years experience of teaching year 6, after a long career taking in all age groups from 4 to 16. I am now a head teacher.
My leisure time is scarce, as you may imagine, so I love the time I can spend sewing, reading, walking, cycling etc. I also like cooking, but not in the style of Masterchef.
The highlights of my holidays are when I see my family. But I love having the time to potter around the house and when I retire I hope to learn more about gardening.
